Implementing the Onboarding SMS Invite Add-On
- Once the Add-On scripts have been run, we can navigate to the User Defined section in Portal Settings. Here, you can use the "Fiddletree Onboarding SMS Invite - Custom Text to include in SMS" Portal Setting. The text entered in this setting will be the first SMS message an employee receives for their Onboarding Invitation. The New Hire will also receive a message with a link to your Employee Portal and an Access pin to start Onboarding.
- You will need to be setup with Twilio and fill in 3 Portal Settings once you have a Twilio account. These Portal Settings are the Phone number to use for outgoing Twilio SMS messages, Twilio Account Auth Token, Twilio Account SID. Twilio support can help you with your Phone Number, Auth Token, and SID. Once complete, you are ready to begin sending Onboard Invites through an SMS message!
Workflow for the Onboarding SMS Invite Add-On
- You can send out an Onboarding Invite as a SMS Message by entering the New Hire's phone number in the "Email" box, separated with a comma but with no space. It should look similar to the screenshot shown below. Charles@FiddletreeSystems.com,6027945804
- The New Hire will receive a text message to the phone number listed from your Twilio phone number. The first message will be made up of the text you entered in the "Custom Text to include in SMS" Portal Setting, and the second message will include a link to sign into the Employee Portal and an Access Pin. Now your New Hires can begin the Onboarding Process through an SMS Message!
