We have released a new version of the Fiddletree HR Onboarding Package. Here’s what you can look forward to:
E-Verify
- Automated Web Services Password Rotation — Web Services User passwords are now automatically updated after 75 days, eliminating the need to manually complete the 90-day Portal Integration Maintenance. Administrator users receive a notification whenever a password is updated, so you're never caught off guard by an expired credential.
Resource Planning
We have been adding many enhancements to Resource Planning since the last release:
Platform
- Company Name in Navigation Bar — Your active company name now appears in the top-right corner of the navigation bar. Users who belong to multiple companies — such as consultants or users with access to a test environment — can switch between companies directly from this dropdown without logging out.
- Improved Save Feedback — More areas of the application now display saving, saved, and error status messages, giving you clearer confirmation that your changes were processed successfully.
- Modals Stay Open on Outside Click — Clicking outside of a dialog or modal no longer closes it accidentally, preventing unintended data loss mid-workflow.
Grids
- Unique View Names Required — When saving a new grid view, the system now requires the name to be unique, preventing confusion between identically named views.
- Sorted Enumerated Filter Values — When using the "Is one of" filter operator on columns with predefined values, the options are now displayed in alphabetical order for easier selection.
Admin
Imports & Integrations
- Continue Importing on Partial Errors — Import jobs no longer stop when a single record fails. Valid records continue to import and only the records with errors are skipped. Error details are still reported so they can be corrected and re-imported.
API Documentation
The following GET (read) endpoints have been added to the API and are now documented:
- Employees
- Jobs
- Assets
- Resource Segments
- Projection Headers, Details, Spreads, and Categories
- Labor Forecasts and Asset Forecasts
- Change Order Export
- Unit Correction Export
- Cost Projection Export
- Revenue Projection Export
Organization
- System Error Log Viewer — A new Error Logs page is available under Admin > Organization, allowing administrators to review system-level errors directly in the application without needing direct database access.
Settings
- Setting Category Groupings & Search — Settings are now organized into labeled category groups and include a search bar, making it much faster to locate specific configuration options.
Cost Projections
- Include Notice to Proceed (NTP) in Revenue Export — A new option allows Notice to Proceed items to be included in the Revenue Export file. A companion setting, Notice to Proceed Revenue Contract Item Pattern, lets you define a default contract item pattern for Notice to Proceed items. When adding a new Notice to Proceed, if the Revenue Item field is left blank, the system will automatically select the matching pattern after saving.
- Require Budget Corrections to Equal Zero — When this setting is enabled, users cannot submit a Cost Projection unless their Budget Corrections sum to zero. This ensures that Budget Transfers are applied accurately.
Forecasts
- Hide General Labor Type — A new setting allows administrators to hide the General Labor Type option throughout the application, keeping forecasting aligned with your organization's specific labor structure.
Gantt Charts
- Hide the "Entire Job" Phase — When enabled, the Entire Job phase is hidden from all Gantt charts, reducing visual clutter for teams that don't use it.
- Hide Past Assignments — When enabled, any assignment that ended before the currently selected date range will no longer appear on the Gantt chart, keeping the view focused on active and upcoming work.
Assignments
- Editable Weekly Hour Totals — When enabled, users can manually edit the hours worked per week on the Labor Forecast grid for long-term assignments, providing more flexibility for extended projects.
- Request Fill Notification — When a different user fills an open resource request, the user who originally created the request is now notified of which resource was assigned.
Users
- Auto-Populate User Details from Employee — When creating a new User record, selecting an existing employee automatically fills in the first name, last name, and email address, eliminating duplicate data entry.
Job Setup
Budget Groups
- Rules-Based Budget Splitting — A new Rules tab on Budget Groups lets administrators define rules for automatically splitting budgets across all jobs, based on Phase Code format, Phase Description, JC Department Code, and/or JC Department Description.
- Apply All Rules — A new Apply All Rules option updates all jobs matching the defined rule criteria in a single action.
Projection Categories
- Additional Grid Detail Options — The Projection Categories grid now includes expanded detail view options.
- Set Remaining Projected Values to Zero When No Activity Exists — When enabled, initializing a new Cost Projection will set remaining projected amounts to zero for any Budget Code that has no Employee assignments or Asset forecasts. This keeps projections clean and accurate by removing stale placeholder values.
Jobs
Jobsite Details
- Next / Previous Navigation — Next and Previous buttons have been added to the Jobsite Details page, allowing users to quickly step through job records without returning to the list.
- Budget by Month & Revenue by Month Pages — New pages showing monthly budget and revenue data are now available for users with the Can View Sensitive permission on Job records.
- Enhanced Job Notes — Job Notes now support text highlighting and checkboxes for better in-note organization. The notes editor is also wider for improved readability and editing comfort.
Jobsite Phases
- Phase Predecessor & Successor Dependencies — Phases can now be linked together in a dependency chain. Each phase can have one or more predecessor phases (phases that must come before it) and one or more successor phases (phases that follow it). When a phase's dates are changed, the system automatically calculates how every downstream successor — and their successors in turn, cascading through the entire chain — should shift to maintain the correct sequence.
Before the change is committed, the system performs a preview check and presents a list of all affected phases, showing each phase's current dates alongside its proposed new dates. You must explicitly confirm before any changes are applied, giving you full visibility and control over the cascade. This eliminates the need to manually update each dependent phase when a schedule shifts. - Multiple Drive By Phases — Phases now support selecting more than one Drive By phase simultaneously.
Jobsite Labor Forecast
- Weekly Incremental Curve Consistency — Labor curve logic has been updated so incremental values remain consistent on a per-week basis rather than per-day, producing more predictable forecast distributions.
- Edit Button Opens Full Modal — Clicking Edit on a forecast now opens the complete forecast initialization modal, giving users access to all settings in one place.
- Last Updated Date in Budget Summary — When Actuals are displayed, the Budget Summary now shows the date the data was last refreshed.
- Phase Date Changes Update Forecasts and Assignments — When the "Allow Labor Forecasts by Jobsite Phase" setting is enabled, changing a phase's dates automatically adjusts all future labor forecasts and daily assignments to match the new dates. If the assignment duration is extended, the system will carry forward the last-used forecast and daily assignment entries automatically.
- Improved Even Distribution Curve— The distribution curve has been refined for more accurate even distribution. Additional improvements include:
- Distribution Curve field moved before the adjustable workforce fields for a more logical input order.
- When a Budget Group is selected and visible, the remaining hours to distribute default to that group's remaining hours.
- The start date of the date range now defaults to the day after the Last Refresh Date, or the Job Start Date if no refresh has occurred yet.
- When forecasting to a construction phase, the begin date, end date, and duration fields are read-only, as they are locked to the phase dates.
- The end date of the date range now defaults to the latest of the Assignment End Date, Labor Forecast Date, or Job End Date.
Jobsite Projections
General
- Initialized / Submitted By & Date — The Jobsite Projections page now prominently displays who initialized the projection and when. Once submitted, this is replaced by the Submitted By and Submitted Date.
- Restricted Unsubmit Permission — Cost Projections can now only be unsubmitted by Tenant Admins or designated JC Department Approvers (configured under Admin > Projection Setup > JC Departments > Approvers).
- Submitted Months Are Read-Only — Submitted and past Cost Projection months are now fully read-only, and the Initialize button is disabled for those months, protecting finalized data from accidental changes.
- New Initialize Options— When reinitializing an existing Cost Projection for a selected month, three targeted options are now available:
- Add New Data Only — Pulls in new phase codes and cost types without affecting existing rows.
- Only Update Actuals — Refreshes only the rows that have outdated actuals data.
- Override All Values — Fully refreshes and replaces all Cost Projection data for the month.
- Next Job Navigation from Global Projections — When navigating to a Jobsite Projection from the Global Projections page, a Next button lets you move directly to the next job in the list.
Revenue Tab
- Inline Editing for Notice to Proceed Department and Revenue Item — Department and Revenue Item fields on Notice to Proceed items are now editable directly in the Revenue tab grid without opening a separate editor.
Summary Tab
- Auto-Hide Single Department Column — The JC Department column on the Summary Tab is automatically hidden when only one JC Department is present on a job, reducing unnecessary visual clutter.
Spread
- Spread Toggle Moved to View/Filter Header — The spread toggle has been relocated to the View/Filter header area to save space on the page.
- Improved Spread Evenly Calculations — The math for even spreading has been refined. Cost To Spread, Total Spread Cost, and Remaining To Spread columns now calculate more accurately, and performance for spread validation on department submit has been improved.
Cost Projections Grid
- Approved Change Order Columns — New Approved Change Order columns have been added to the grid. Pending Change Orders with "Include in Projection" checked will appear in Pending Change Order columns and be factored into Budget and Current Estimate calculations. Total Spread Cost and Approved Change Order columns now display a grand total row at the bottom.
- Notes Column — A Notes column can now be added to the Cost Projections Grid, allowing Project Managers to record notes against individual Phase Code / Cost Type rows. Rows with notes display a blue icon for quick visual identification.
- Hours/Unit Column Hidden with Hours — When the Hours column is hidden in a section, the Hours/Unit column is now hidden automatically as well, keeping the grid consistent.
Jobsite Budget Variance
- New Budget Variance Report — A Budget Variance report has been added for users with the Can View Sensitive permission on Job records, providing a dedicated view for analyzing budget performance.
Global Labor Forecasts
- Export to Excel — Global Labor Forecasts can now be exported directly to Excel.
- Forecast Hover Details — Hovering over a Labor Forecast now displays a pop-up showing the Budget Group, Work Schedule, and Pay Rate for that forecast.
- Drill-Down on Assigned / Unassigned Counts — In the Daily/Weekly Summary section, clicking on a highlighted blue value opens a list showing which employees are either assigned or unassigned for that period.
Global Projections
- Default to Current Month — The month selector now defaults to the current month when you open the Global Projections page.
- Most Recent Month First — The month dropdown is now sorted from most recent to oldest.
- Sortable Columns — All columns on the Global Projections grid are now sortable.
Scheduling
Assignments
- Prevent Overlapping Phase Assignments — The system now prevents a resource from being assigned to overlapping date ranges for the same phase, reducing scheduling conflicts.
Daily Scheduling
- Phase Description Shown with Labor Type — When a forecast is associated with a phase, the phase description is now displayed alongside the Labor Type in the Daily Scheduling view for better context.
- Copy Schedule — Select Job End Date — The Copy Schedule modal now lets you select the Job End Date as the "Copy to End Date" destination.
- Leave Badge for Time Off — Employees who have an approved time off request on an assigned day are now marked with a Leave Badge, making it easy to identify and reschedule them by dragging them off of jobs.
Gantt Charts
- Improved Text Visibility on Bright Job Colors — Text on Gantt chart event bars is now more readable when displayed against bright or saturated job colors.
- Resource Gantt Shows All Scheduled Users — The Resource Gantt now displays all users configured for both short-term and long-term scheduling.
- More Detail in Event Bar Tooltips — Hovering over a Gantt event bar now shows additional detail in the tooltip.
Dispatch Board
- Save Confirmation Toast — A toast notification is now shown when changes are saved on the Dispatch Board.
- Start/End Date Subtext on Jobs and Phases — Job and Phase cards now display start and end date subtext for quicker scheduling reference.
- Additional Resource and Job Detail Subtext — Resource and Job records show more contextual detail at a glance.
- Expanded Category Support for Unassigned Requests — Additional categories are now supported when dragging unassigned requests onto resources.
Resources
Employees
- SMS Opt-In/Out Cleared on Phone Number Change — When an Employee's Work Phone number is changed, their SMS opt-in/out status is automatically cleared, ensuring that text message consent is re-confirmed for the new number.
- Add Assignments Directly from Employee Record — Users with Dispatching permissions can now create assignments directly from the Employee record without navigating away. When creating an assignment this way, the employee and primary category default to the employee's values automatically.
- Mobile View Shows Job Phase and Work Schedule — The Employee > Assignments mobile view now includes the Job Phase and Work Schedule for each assignment.
Crews — Crew Members
- Labor Type–Filtered Employee Dropdown — The employee dropdown in Crew Members is now filtered by the Crew's Labor Type, preventing mismatched assignments.
Reports
Labor Forecast Report
- Bar Chart and Weekly Table View — The Labor Forecast Report now displays both a bar chart and a data table broken down by week.
- Opportunities Shown at the Top — Opportunity filters are now shown at the top of the report for more accessible filtering.
Net Resources
- Expanded Details— Several UI improvements have been made to surface more detail in the Net Resources report:
- Available and Unfilled metrics are now both shown in the table simultaneously — the toggle between them has been removed.
- Job numbers and direct job links are displayed in the drill through popup.
- Numbers are now uniformly sized, and zero values are displayed in black for better readability.
Utilization Report
- Weekly Column Breakdown — Report columns are now organized by week instead of a single aggregated view.
- Collapse/Expand Buttons Moved to Left — Collapse and expand controls on applicable reports have been moved to the left side of the page for a more consistent layout.
