To navigate to the Labor Forecasts page in Jobs List, select ‘Jobs’ on the top navigation bar and click “Jobs List’ from the drop down menu. Here, users can view a grid list of site names. Click any Site Name to view additional details for that site and navigate to the ‘Labor Forecasts’ page. This is how admins can create short-term labor forecasts by specialty.

Notes:

  • The Defaulted Date Range End Date is based on the latest of Assignments End Date, Labor Forecast Date, and Job End Date.

  • The start date of the date range will default to the day after the Last Refresh Date.  If there is no last refresh date, the start date will default to the Job Start Date.

  • When setting "Labor Forecast - Allow Labor Forecasts by Jobsite Phase" is enabled, if a phase date changes, Forecasts and Associated Daily Assignments should adjust.

    • Will update future labor forecasts and future daily assignments to new phase dates.  If the duration of assignment is extended, it will automatically add the last used forecast and daily assignment.

  • Clicking Edit will bring up the entire forecast initialization modal.

  • Add Forecast, Edit Forecast, Add New assignments, and Edit assignment modals will not close when the user clicks outside of them. User must select  X, Cancel, or Save in order to close.

  • If the setting "Allow Labor Forecasts by Jobsite Phase" is enabled, the Entire Job will show as an option to select in the Phase dropdown. This also applies to Phase Date changes when the Labor Forecast and Daily Schedule is updated; which would be based on the Job Start and Job End dates.

  • Last Updated date to Budget Summary when Actuals are shown.

  • If the Budget Group field is shown and selected, the remaining hours to distribute will default to that Budget Group's remaining hours.

  • Remaining Hours will always (=) Budget Group Hours remaining hours (-) hours being distributed in labor curve.

  • When forecasts go to construction phase, begin date, end date, and duration they are now read only since they are locked to the phase dates.

  • This will show the jobsite at an overall project level.

  • The Summary shows:

  • Projected Hours and Costs

  • Forecasts

  • What was projected

  • If what was projected is over or under the budget

Click into each individual category like sheetmetal vs. plumbing and see how each group is doing.

The chart on top shows a labor curve, if one has been created and a headcount [a forecast of employees for a specific job] and the ‘Beginning Day of  Week’ which can be viewed in daily or weekly intervals with a selection button.

This chart reflects all the forecasts and inputs the admin has made in the grids below which are either Short-Term or Long-Term assignments.

Note: The type of curve the admin wants can be created in the ‘By Labor Type’ section.

  • Click (+Add New) in the ‘By Employee Assignment’ modal to create a long-term assignment.

  • Click (Add Forecast) in the ‘By Labor Type’ to create a short-term assignment.

Creating a Short-Term Assignment

  • This is where different labor types are chosen and a customer schedule can be created for each labor type.

  • At the bottom of the Labor Forecasts page, users can find a section called “By Labor Type.” This section shows the Labor Forecast by type, work schedule, and weekly time frame.

  • To add a forecast, select the ‘Add Forecast’ button.

  • An “Add Labor Forecast’ modal allows users to select a Date Range and Labor Type.

  • Select the ‘Next’ button.

  • The ‘Distribute’ section allows users to distribute those forecasts by Hours or Bulk.

    • Distribute By Hours

      • When budgets start pulling in, this is where we will see a number of hours to distribute based on what's available in the budget.

      • Choose how you want your labor curve to be automatically applied for this forecast (even, front weighted, back weighted, bell curve).

      • Updated logic for labor curves to keep incremental numbers the same on each week instead of by day.

  • Selecting ‘Bulk’ will only allow an input of workers per day.

  • Selecting ‘Hours’ will provide additional inputs such as:

    • Hours to Distribute

    • Peak Workforce

    • Week at Peak

    • Week at Decline

    • Distribution

    • Rounding Options

  • A graph will show below what the forecasted hours will look like moving forward and help users plan future jobs efficiently.

  • Select ‘Initialize.’

  • Now our Labor Chart will show the inputs. Scroll up to see the inputted information on the forecast graph.

    • Green lines represent who's actually been assigned

    • Blue is the number of people we've requested.
